A Japanese military mission to Indo-China
and Thailand passed through Hong Kong in December,
it started off in a hurry but slowed down when its plans

Governor and General Officer Commanding of Indo-China
on 19.12.39 and whilst in Hong Kong conferred with the Japanese pseudo language study military officer SUZUKI
Tho returned to the Colony 9.12.39 to "continue his
studies" replacing ISKINO who is believed to have
failed in his mission which was possibly connected
with Japanese/Wong Ching wai peace intrigue one of
whose secret agents was prosecuted in the Colony in
November for possession of secret codes. SUZUK has
retained the services of ISKINO'S several "domestic
servants".
A Japanese clerk "not on the regular staff"
of the Japanese consulate at Hong Kong is showing
considerable interest in the geography of the Colony
and strategic points thereof, he is now residing in
Kowloon Tong and in this connection it is noticed that
a number of Japanese officials are now moving out to
the suburban areas.
The DOMEI NEWS have been negotiating with
local telegraph agencies with the aid of the Japanese manager of the International Telecommunications
Limited of Tokyo who came to the Colony in December
for that purpose, but the nature of the negotiations
is not yet discovered.
Japanese Press Reports claim that the
Japanese Minister-at-large in China is to be given
a large increase of staff and the new Japanese Minister
